To be honest, it should have been done years ago by the look of it, but, of course, we waited until it started leaking in November heavy rains. We were fortunate to get three consecutive dry, but cold, days in which they completed the whole job, getting the old roof off and the new to a waterproof stage by the end of day one. The old roof was worse than anticipated, the boards being spongy and rotten: they showed me the problem, discussed the solution, and requoted to include replacement of those boards so that the work could continue without delay. The new roof looks terrific, with its lead edging and repointed stonework, and all signs of work and debris have been tidied away. We already feel the benefit of the new insulation. We have not had to call on roofers before, so this is not a comparative review, but our experience with Pentland Roofing has been fully positive in terms of communication and the product that they deliver.
